Prime Minister Charlot Salwai said the issue of West Papua was not successful during the recent Pacific Islands Forum Leaders in Samoa.
Mr Salwai said that this will not stop Vanuatu's support to voice its concerns on the violation of human rights of its melanesian brothers and sisters in West West Papua.
Mr Salwai said that Vanuatu is no longer the only country in the region to speak out about human rights violation in West Papua but has the support of the other seven regional country and they are going to raise the issue during United Nations General Assembly in New York next week.
Prime Minister Salwai made this comments after his return this week in Port Vila from PIF last week in Samoa. He will depart from UNGA during the weekend.
