The Government of Vanuatu is unhappy about an action that France had been doing in recent weeks after a French Warship left for Mathieu and Hunter Island.

The Name of the Ship is the "VENDEMIAIRE"

Minister Rengenvanu was telling the officers of the warship who had come alongside and handed over a plaque which the French Government had planted on these two islands.

The VBTC had reported that Minister Regenvanu said he reproduced the French flag on one side of one of the island's stones.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Ralph Rengenvanu demonstrates today (Friday 1 March 2019) in charge of affairs of the French Embassy in Port Vila and say that the Government of Vanuatu is not happy at all with this action, because it is an action that is not in the spirit of negotiation that Vanuatu and France currently have to determine the maritime boundary for these two countries.

Minister Rengenvanu had informed the Charge d'Affaires of the French Embassy in Port Vila that the Prime Minister of Vanuatu will send a letter to Emmanuel MACRON in France to demonstrate a formal complaint by the Government of Vanuatu.
